Henry Cavill is Zack Snyder’s Superman
Zack Snyder has found his ‘Man of Steel’ and he is from across the pond. Brit Henry Cavill will trade in his Medieval tights for Superhero tights when he suits up as Krypton’s favorite (and only) son in the December 2010 reboot of Superman. I’ve read a bunch of posts online questioning the casting decision of Cavill, honestly before about an hour before writing this post I had never heard of Henry Cavill. I’ve never seen ‘The Tudors’, ‘Stardust’ or ‘The Count of Monte Christo’, so I don’t know if he is a good choice or not. I will say Zach Snyder did a great job casting ‘Watchmen’ (who would have thought Kelly Leak… I mean Jackie Earle Haley would be a great Rorschach?), so I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt when it comes to Cavill.
Here is what Snyder had to say on the subject of Cavill:
“In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen. I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield.”
Look for Superman in theaters everywhere in late 2012.
