Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (Review)

Check out my full review of Superman/Batman: Apocalypse on ThinkHero.com

DC Comics released their latest direct to DVD movie on September 29, 2010; Superman/Batman: Apocalypse. Like Superman/Batman: Public Enemies Tim Daly and Kevin Conroy are back as the voices of the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight; they are joined on this outing by geek favorite Summer Glau as the voice of Supergirl and Andre Braugher as Darkseid.

Yeah, looks like the Amazons leave no one behind... (or else.) We like Bats as much as the next Fortress Guy but it just seemed some freeze pellet or other Bat gizmo might have been more convincing when it comes to him fighting a doomsday.

We liked the art style more than you. You seemed more tolerant of a thousand Doomsdays, which we thought a little contrived. We all agree the Supes was portrayed as... less powerful than perhaps fitting. Come on, against Darkseid he does not have to hold back. Here is our take with a lot of pics and a little humor if your are interested: http://fortresstakes.wordpress.com/2010/11/10/supermanbatman-apocalypse-2010/

I tolerated the army of Doomsdays only because the concept is really cool, but I was very disappointed in how easily defeated they were. I was never a big fan of the late Michael Turner's art, so I knew going in the look wouldn't be my cup of tea. Oh and what happened to the dead or injured Amazons when Supes vaporized the Army with his heat vision? As always thanks for the comments! Don't forget to follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
